The equipment of the houses
and apartments
The equipment of the houses and apartments: All houses and apartments are maintained and cared for in good technical condition. The rooms are simply but functionally furnished, and kitchens and bathrooms are equipped with everything necessary. Mattresses and beds are each of GOOD quality. For ecological reasons, we (mostly) refrain from using air conditioning, but the houses are well-insulated, well-oriented, and there are fans available. Luxury is not typically offered - instead, we strive to provide fair prices with excellent service. We make a special effort to enable affordable vacations for families. In all apartments, we provide internet. We mostly work with mobile routers (except in city apartments), which provide good internet service here in Portugal. Depending on the region, the contracts are either "unlimited" or limited to 30 or 60 GB per month. Please ask if this is important for your work, for example. We have (almost completely) eliminated TV contracts and TV sets, as most people stream their information via the internet - in their native language and according to their needs. The regional Portuguese TV channels or TV offerings here no longer make sense for the vast majority of tenants. Therefore, we have focused on providing reliable internet access.
About us
We are Maya (55) and Mike (58), and we have been closely connected to Portugal for 25 years. Until 2019, we lived in both Germany and Portugal - partly because our 2 children live in Germany. However, with the p(l)andemic in 2020, we consciously decided to fully embrace Portugal. We are Christians and lead a peaceful and secluded life, cherishing nature, the countryside, and the friendly people here in Portugal. We have established strong connections and speak the language fluently. During Winter (Nov - March) our prices are always exclusive of electricity costs/electric heating. The rental prices are adjusted accordingly low in winter. Sufficient heating options are available. We have chosen a separate billing for heating costs to avoid excessive flat-rate calculations and to offer the most affordable stay possible. We will inform you separately with the reservation if the booking falls into the winter period. The subject is well described in all contracts. You can find all further details and prices directly in the house descriptions.
Legal aspects of holiday and long-term rentals in Portugal
In Portugal, there are practically no indefinite lease agreements! This is due to tax and civil law reasons. We can offer contracts up to 9 months, which are legally protected here. These contracts may have the option of extension. Holiday rental contracts and long-term contracts are legally distinct forms of agreements here in Portugal.
Concept details
All houses/apartments are non-smoking areas. Generally, we do not allow pets, unless it is agreed upon differently with you and stated in the contract. The houses are not party zones and are not located in party areas. There is no objection to a small barbecue party, but overall, this concept is more oriented towards calm, nature-loving, and culturally aware individuals.
